“Hymn To Osiris”
The gods come to you,
bowing low before you,
and they hold you in fear.
They withdraw and depart
when they see you endowed
with the terror of Ra,
and the victory of Your Majesty
is over their hearts.
Life is with you,
and offerings of meat and drink follow you,
and that which is your due
is offered before your face.
I have come to you
holding Truth in my hands,
and my heart has in it
no cunning or deceit.
I offer to you that which is your due;
I know whereupon you live.
I have not committed
any kind of sin upon the land;
I have defrauded no man of what is his.
I am Thoth,
the perfect scribe,
whose hands are pure.
I am the Lord of Purity,
the Destroyer of Evil,
the Scribe of Truth;
what I abominate is sin.
